What the code means
A2398 is the A-number Apple prints for the iPhone 12 mini. Tap Settings → General → About → Model Number to see yours. Unlike an IMEI, a model code is shared by many devices. This site never asks for the IMEI.
Apple identifies each iPhone with an A-number, such as A3293 — the regulatory identifier printed on the box, on the SIM tray of recent iPhones, and on the back of older ones. One iPhone ships with several A-numbers, one per sales region; they are all the same phone. Every Apple code on file is listed on the Apple codes page.
One phone, several codes: A2176, A2399, A2400 are also listed as iPhone 12 mini. Regional variants can have different hardware, even when they share a marketing name.
